We Wish You Well

We Wish You Well

2016-2017, glass mosaics on plastic; dimensions variable.

Participants, given thank you cards with the artist’s website to follow the project, attached cards to their mosaics reading: “We wish you well! This mandala was made by [name]. Hope it brightens your day.” The mosaics, coated with resin, were strung with fishing line to a suction cup so each could be hung in a window. They were given to patients at Dayton Children’s Hospital by members of the volunteer organization TWIG.

Haapapuro set up tables with brightly colored glass pieces at schools, libraries and festivals. She invited people to make healing mandala light catchers to give to patients at Dayton Children’s Hospital at a series of workshops. Over 300 hundred people contributed to the project.
