These Caryatids were made with help of inmates from the Montgomery County Criminal Justice department. Inmates also made plaster casts of their faces which were cast in cement and incorporated into a frieze at the Municipal Court Building. During this project the distinction between public, and community based art became important to her; and ideas of art as social practice took root. Haapapuro worked on many public art projects while the artist in residence at K12 Gallery/TEJAS.
